Place of origin: Native to the forests, mountains and deserts of Central and South America, the southern United States and the West Indies. Belongs to Tillandsia species which areevergreen, perennial flowering plants in the Bromeliaceae family.
Description: This Tillandsia species is tall, stemless with light-green grass-like leaves growing in tufts up to 50 or 60 cm high. Height varies greatly, but an average plants is 25 – 40cm The flowers are blue.
Grow best: It is an easy plant to care for. It requires bright, sunny and moderate damp conditions. Soak once per week or mist regularly to prevent tipping. Propagate from pups.
Use: It's vertical shape make it a stand-out on it's own for home décor , in an air plant terrarium, or even propped on a piece of driftwood or laid in your favorite dish. The tall and grassy green look can also be exploited by fixing on cork, driftwood or glass orbs suspended in the air. Also a favorite for tall vases.
