Description: 800 to 900 species of flowering plants known. Herbaceous creeper and erect annual with trefoil-like leaves or divided leaves with heart shaped leaflets. Flowers have five petals, fused at the base with petal color varying from white to pink, red or yellow. The fruit capsule contains several seeds. Roots are tuberous and succulent.
