  • Scientific name: Exacum pedunculatum
  • Place of origin: India.
  • Description: Latin name- exacum- means ‘with a stalk’. This plant is an annual herb 7-30cm tall with very fragrant deep-blue flowers in bloom almost all the year round. Leaves are smooth, oval while the stems are branched and reddish.
  • Grow best: Fairly easy to grow in well-draining soil, partial sun exposure, mild temperatures and adequate water. These factors are critical especially in summer for the proper growth of this plant.
  • Use:The highly fragrant flowers make this plant a favourite indoor plant.
