Place of origin: Tropics and subtropical regions of Asia, Africa and Australia.
Description: Evergreen small plant about 60 cm tall, with green or white striped long leaves arranged in a central rosette. Small white flowers produced on sparse long panicles. This plant puts out runners from which new plants grow giving a unique spider-like look.
Grow best: Propagation by the tiny plantlets. Needs bright sunlight. Water moderately.
Use: In hanging pots. When placed inside the house, believed to reduce pollution. Also used in Ayurveda.
