Place of origin: West Africa
Description: The leaves of this plant are 30-40 cm stiff, standing upright sword-like, dark green with yellow edges. White flowers appear in clusters on a single long stalk. The sharp points of the leaves lends it the analogy to a mother-in-law’s sharp tongue.
Grow best: Propagated by cuttings. Needs good sunshine and less water.
Use: Indoors ornamentally. Believed to purify the home air of household cleaning chemicals. Also as outdoor landscaping for borders.
