• Place of origin: Iran to India.
  • Description: Small shrubby tree growing to about 6m, bearing orange-red single tube  flowers.
  • Grow best: In bright sunlight, well-drained soil.


  • Use: The fruit is consumed just as it is or as juices and smoothies. Incorporated into salads and garnishing for dishes. The fruit pulp can be used downstream for making alcoholic beverages. Pomegranate seeds are also used in cooking.


Gardening Tips: Water once a week, fertilize well and weed around the tree, prune to required shape. Once flowers and fruits appear, water regularly.
