Pomelo

  • Place of origin: South East Asia. Name originated from Tamil Pambilimasu.

 

  • Description: Trees grow to about 8m and bear fruits resembling grapefruits.

 

  • Grow best: In full sunlight, in any type of soil that is moist but well-drained. Water once a week.  

 

  • Gardening Tips: Use citrus fertiliser.

 

  •  Use: The skin of pomelo is very rich in bioflavonoids and suggested to slow growth of some cancers. Fruit segments are delicious added to salads without membrane.
